This feature article about Tom Watson ('71) appeared in the Stanford Magazine during the summer of 1983. The article was written during the height of Watson's great career by Stanford teammate Rich Harris ('68 - photo at left), a two-time All-American in his own right. It provides a unique perspective on Watson from his formative years thru his great US Open win at Pebble Beach over Jack Nicklaus in 1982. Watson comments on his time at Stanford and on the golf course which helped build his Hall of Fame game. Rich Harris is now a lawyer in SF.
